The AFF invites all interested fencers to register for the following 2017 Coach Designated Tours:
1) the Open and U/23 Mens & Womens Sabre Tour to Korea in March/April 2017, incorporating the FIE Grand Prix in Seoul; and
2) the Open and U/23 Mens & Womens Foil Tour to China in May 2017, incorporating the FIE Grand Prix event in Shanghai.
The information for the tours is separated based on Age Category and Weapon. Please ensure that you download the one(s) that you are interested in.
Further information for the Tours can be gained from the contacts listed in the documents.
To register, click here. To see who is already registered, click here. This registration facility is provided to Australian fencers for tours which are compulsory for members of the High Performance Program, but are also available for participation by non-HPP fencers. Registrations close on Friday 17 February 2017.
Please note that if you have previously registered for these tours, you do not need to do so again.
Please also note the "Fees and Charges" information on the AFF web site (click here), in addition to the Operational Protocols on Selection (click here) and Tour Costs (click here). As part of the registration process, you will be asked about travel insurance. If you leave this blank, the standard tour insurance charge will apply.
In order to nominate for events that form part of the tour, you will need an FIE licence. This is not required immediately, but you will not be able to complete your nomination unless all of the international representation pre-requisites have been competed (click here).
Athletes intending to compete in Junior or Senior World Cup events (including Grand Prix) need to note very carefully the operation of the Selection Policy (sections J4.21 - J4.23, and O4.21 - O4.23 respectively). The Operational Protocol for other Category "E" events for cost information is also relevant (click here), as is the information relating to Team entries (click here).
Important Note: nomination for the competitions that are part of this tour is an additional process, and must be done using the overseas competition entry facility (click here). As with the FIE licence above, event entry does not to need to be done at the time of tour nomination.
